CGIAR (Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research)
CGIAR (Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research) was established in 1974 and it is part of the CGIAR-system. It is the world's leading international research organization seeking to build better lives for the world's poor by researching and promoting the sustainable use and conservation of agricultural biodiversity (agrobiodiversity).
Main areas of work: Bioversity International's work has three core, inter-related strands. The foundation of our work is agricultural research with and through partners in developed and developing countries. The research results inform the development of appropriate national and international policies and legislation.
