The Edfu project is an Egyptology long-term project of the Göttingen Academy of Sciences and Humanities in Lower Saxony (NAWG). Its goal is to provide a self-contained and reliable translation of all inscriptions of the temple of Edfu.
As a cooperation partner of the Göttingen Academy of Sciences and Humanities in Lower Saxony the SUB Göttingen migrated the existing data to a relational database to make it searchable. The Edfu project was integrated in the web portal of the Academy and a TYPO3 extension was developed to display the migrated data online. Additionally a virtual map of the temple visualising the place of every inscription was created. The publications related to the project are made available on the "res doctae" repository. Thus, allowing interested scholars to access the comprehensive pictorial and textual material quickly and easily.
This project is part of the cooperation Göttingen Academy of Sciences and Humanities in Lower Saxony Digital.
