GFBio - Project details (German Federation for the Curation of Biological Data)
The DFG funded pilot project GFBio (German Federation for the Curation of Biological Data) aims to promote the exchange of knowledge between scientists, scientific collections and already existing scientific networks to secure long-term data-storage. For this purpose, a service-oriented, national data infrastructure is planned, which will build on existing structures such as Pangaea. The project will manage heterogeneous data from the fields of genetics, environmental science, ecology, geography and collection data and will accompany their organisation through project-own services such as helpdesk or workshops.
