Wiley

A contract based on the read-and-publish model has been concluded between the publisher Wiley and the DEAL project. This provides for the following points, which apply to the University of Göttingen and the University Medical Center Göttingen within the framework of participation in the contract.

Time period: 2019 – 2023
PLEASE NOTE: An extension of the contract is currently under review! Please inform yourself about current publication projects at oa@sub.uni-goettingen.de.

Information on the respective journals can be found in the continuously updated DEAL Wiley journal list.

NEW: In 2023 the Hindawi journals were integrated.

Hybrid Open Access (Wiley OnlineOpen)

Publishing in hybrid Wiley journals (column G 'HOA'): Free open access publishing of research articles and reviews is available to researchers in most subscription-based journals (Hybrid Open Access) from Wiley. Other publication types are not eligible.
Open Access is provided as standard in the publication workflow (Wiley OnlineOpen) (usually with an Open Content CC BY license). While this can be deselected during the process, it does not impact the cost side and deprives the University and authorship of the benefits of open access.
A few journals from Wiley are not included in the agreement and are listed in the journal list in the 'excluded' spreadsheet.
cOAlition S with eleven EU funding agencies recognizes the 'Publish and Read' model of these financial statements. There is compatibility with PlanS.

Gold Open Access

Publishing in genuine Gold Wiley journals (Spalte G 'OA'): Generally, a 20% discount is granted. Since not all journals are discounted, please find out the exact cost beforehand. Publishing is not free of charge for researchers.

The publication costs for 'corresponding authors' of the University of Göttingen (including the University Medical Center Göttingen) can, if necessary, be financed completely or proportionally by the publication fund for journal articles of the University of Göttingen. University funds are used for this purpose. The funding requirements with funding note are mentioned under 'Financial support by university funding'.

The publication process for authors

For general information, use Author Services. Detailed descriptions specific to the publishing process can be found on this publisher page.

  • You are a 'corresponding author' and submit your article directly to the journal.
  • By participating in DEAL, your article will be published in open access after acceptance and corresponding confirmation on your part.
  • There are no charges for you when publishing research articles and reviews in subscription journals (hybrid open access).
  • When publishing in pure open access journals, you may need to plan for cost sharing by your institution.

Please note:
Hindawi journals use a different submission system (System Phenom). You indicate your affiliation when submitting the manuscript. Only one corresponding author (CA) can be specified. This means that the eligible author must submit and correctly select the affiliation. Only this step triggers the eligibility.

In addition to being published by the publisher, the article will be made available and archived via GRO.publications, the publication management system of the University of Göttingen.
